Good to know

What do I get?

20 portraits across 10 Chinese Opera looks. 14 photographic portraits, four anime illustrations and two illustrated avatars, each look in two compositions. Women and Men choose costumes, stage makeup and headwear, and your photo supplies the person.

How many images will look like me?

Results vary widely. Some users get 10 out of 20 portraits that look like them while others may get only 1–2. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee how many will feel like you because AI is an evolving technology.

We price with this uncertainty in mind. For the cost of a specialty Starbucks drink, you can reimagine yourself and explore new looks from home without dressing up or booking a photoshoot, with images appearing in about 10–30 seconds each.

What do I need to do?

Choose your styling and pay. Then sign in or create your account, upload one clear photo of your face, and add any optional instructions. Then enjoy your images as they get created in real-time.

Which photos can I upload?

Only upload photos you have the legal right to use for AI portrait creation, with any required permissions and consent. Your uploads and use of the images must comply with applicable law and our Terms.

When will I see my portraits?

Your portraits appear in real time, about 10–30 seconds per image.

Can I change the clothes, background, or style?

Yes. Add instructions before creating your pack to request different clothes, backgrounds, or details. These instructions are included in the pack’s first 20 portraits. Have a different idea in mind? Describe it in one line and get 10 free AI suggestions. Creating a separate portrait, more portraits, or refining a result uses additional credits. The cost is shown before you create.

What kinds of portraits are included?

The pack includes 14 photographic portraits, four anime illustrations and two illustrated avatars. Each of the ten looks has two compositions.

Does the pack change who I am?

No. Your photo supplies your face, age, skin tone and body. Each look adds the role's costume, stage makeup and headwear, and women's roles wear a black opera wig as they do on stage. Glasses and religious coverings stay unless you ask otherwise. AI likeness can vary.

Is this real opera costume?

The looks follow Peking opera and Kunqu roles as opera portrait studios style them today. Painted faces are simplified so your features stay clear. They leave out real performers, deities and weapons.

Can I pay once?

Yes. We offer one-time payments because you should be able to create when you want, without committing to a subscription. If you create regularly, our optional monthly plans offer discounts.

What if generation fails or I dislike the results?

We started Hotpot to make users happy. Every image costs money to create, even if the image fails to look like you. While we can’t promise refunds all the time, if you’re unhappy, please contact us. We’ll review what happened and look for a fair solution.

If a request fails, the pack stops and completed portraits remain available.

What happens to my uploaded photo?

Hotpot does not use your photos to train AI. Your source photo is used during creation and isn’t saved to your account. Delete saved portraits anytime from Drive. See our terms for provider processing and retention.
